Sausage-Kale Penne

Ingredients

  • 12 oz whole wheat penne pasta
  • 1 lb Italian chicken sausage, casings removed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (24-oz) jar natural marinara sauce (such as Rao’s)
  • ⅔ cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chopped kale

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, cook sausage and onion in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes or until browned. Add sauce, cream, and garlic; cook 4 to 5 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  3. Stir in kale, and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until wilted.
