Stovetop Lasagna
Creamy Green SaladIngredients
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ lb ground sirloin
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 (12-oz) pkg whole-grain lasagna noodles, broken in pieces
- 1 (28-oz) can BPA-free organic San Marzano tomatoes, undrained and chopped
- 1 (15-oz) can BPA-free organic no-salt-added tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
- ½ cup water
- 1 (15-oz) container ricotta cheese
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Cook garlic, beef, salt, and pepper in hot oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.
- Place lasagna noodles over meat mixture; top with tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, and water.
- Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until noodles are tender.
- Dollop ricotta cheese over mixture, stirring slightly; top with mozzarella. Cover and let stand 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Side Dish Ingredients
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp olive-oil mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 heads Bibb lettuce, chopped
Side Dish Instructions
- Whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, vinegar, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Drizzle over lettuce in a large bowl, and toss.
