Ham Macaroni and Cheese
Peas with BasilIngredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg elbow macaroni
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 (16-oz) pkg diced ham, drained
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and keep warm.
- Heat oil and butter in a Dutch oven; add ham. Sauté 5 minutes until ham is browned; sprinkle flour over mixture.
- Cook 2 minutes until foamy; add milk, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil; cook 5 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in cheese and macaroni; cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 (12-oz) pkg frozen green peas
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
Side Dish Instructions
- Cook peas according to package directions; stir in butter and basil. Season with salt to taste.
