Slow-Cooked Sweet and Sour Brisket
Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Steamed Green BeansIngredients
- ¾ lb beef brisket, trimmed
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 small sweet onion, sliced
- 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp molasses
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Sprinkle brisket with salt and pepper.
- Place onion in a 4-quart slow cooker; place brisket over onion.
- Whisk together tomato sauce, molasses, and vinegar; pour over brisket. Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours or until brisket is tender.
- Slice brisket before serving.

- 1 large sweet potato
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 (12-oz) pkg green beans
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Bake sweet potato 30 minutes or until tender; peel potato and mash in a serving bowl. Stir in butter.
- Meanwhile, microwave green beans according to package directions.
- Season sweet potato and green beans with salt and pepper to taste.
