Smoked Sausage and Cabbage Soup
Hot Baked CornbreadIngredients
- 1 (13-oz) pkg smoked sausage link, sliced
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 stalks celery, sliced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 (28-oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (32-oz) carton beef broth
- ½ green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Cook sausage, onion, celery, and carrots in hot oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender.
- Add tomatoes, broth, cabbage, and seasoning; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

- 2 (6-oz) pkg buttermilk cornbread mix
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake cornbread according to package directions. Serve with soup.
