Holiday Poutine
Ingredients
- 1 (28-oz) pkg frozen natural house-cut French fries
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp whole wheat flour
- 1½ cups low-sodium chicken broth
- ½ tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
- ½ cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
- 1 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh sage (optional)
Instructions
- Bake fries according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook 3 minutes or until tender. Gradually whisk in flour; cook 1 minute.
- Stir in broth, pepper, and salt. Reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 4 to 6 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Top fries with chicken, gravy, cranberry sauce, and cheese, Sprinkle with fresh sage, if desired.
