Seared Ham Steaks with Apples
Green Onion and Wild Rice Pilaf
Ingredients
- 1 (1-lb) ham steak, cut into 3 pieces
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Gala apple, sliced
- 1 cup sliced onion
- ¼ cup gluten-free beef broth
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Sprinkle ham with pepper. Cook in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 3 minutes per side; remove from skillet, and keep warm.
- Add apple and onion to skillet; reduce heat to medium. Sauté 5 minutes or until browned and tender.
- Return ham to skillet; add broth, mustard, and thyme. Simmer over medium heat 5 minutes or until liquid is thickened.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 (3-oz) pkg boil-in-bag multigrain medley rice mix
- 1 green onion, chopped
- ½ tsp salt
Side Dish Instructions
- Cook rice mix according to package directions. Stir in green onion and salt.
