Open-Faced Ham-and-Provolone Sourdough Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 (1.5-oz) slices sourdough bread
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
  • ½ lb thin deli-sliced low-sodium ham
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 (0.67-oz) slices reduced-fat provolone cheese
  • 8 large fresh basil leaves, torn

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Place bread on a baking sheet. Spread mayonnaise over bread; top with ham, bell pepper and cheese.
  3. Broil 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden. Sprinkle with basil before serving.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 3 cups quartered strawberries
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh mint
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Gently toss together all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Chill until ready to serve.
