Slow Cooker Spaghetti and Meat Sauce
Romaine Salad
Ingredients
- 8 oz Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed
- 1 cup chopped onion
- ½ cup chopped carrot
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce
- 4 oz spaghetti
- 1 cup water
- 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Cook sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crumbly; add to a 4-quart slow cooker.
- Sauté onion and carrot in hot oil in skillet 4 to 5 minutes or until tender; add mushrooms and garlic; cook 3 minutes. Add to cooker.
- Stir in marinara sauce, pasta, and water to cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 6 hours. Sprinkle with basil before serving.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- ¼ cup thinly sliced radishes
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp olive oil dressing
Side Dish Instructions
- Toss together all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve alongside pasta.
