Slow Cooker Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped carrot
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 4 oz spaghetti
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crumbly; add to a 4-quart slow cooker.
  2. Sauté onion and carrot in hot oil in skillet 4 to 5 minutes or until tender; add mushrooms and garlic; cook 3 minutes. Add to cooker.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, pasta, and water to cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 6 hours. Sprinkle with basil before serving.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced radishes
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil dressing

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve alongside pasta.
