Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ⅔ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9- x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, allowing it to hang over edges; spray paper with cooking spray.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Whisk together bananas and eggs in another bowl. Add both sugars, vanilla, and butter. Whisk until blended.
  4. Fold banana mixture into flour mixture until ingredients are just combined. Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan; sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips.
  6. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center of bread comes out clean.
  7. Cool slightly. Slice bread, and serve warm.
