Spicy Ginger Steak

Ingredients

  • 3 (8-oz) sirloin steaks
  • ¼ cup gluten-free soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Asian chili garlic paste 
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 6 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise

Instructions

  1. Place steaks in a large zip-top plastic bag; stir together soy sauce, ginger, chili garlic paste, vinegar, and honey. Seal and chill at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  2. Remove steaks from marinade, reserving marinade.
  3. Cook steaks in hot oil in a large cast-iron skillet 3 to 4 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Remove to a cutting board; let stand 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, add bok choy to drippings in skillet, and sauté 2 to 3 minutes per side or until almost done. Add reserved marinade, and cook 2 minutes or until sauce thickens and bok choy is tender.
  5. Slice steaks, and serve with bok choy and sauce over Green Onion Rice recipe.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1½ cups long-grain white rice
  • 3 green onions, chopped

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package directions. Stir in green onions, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
