Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground sirloin
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, sliced (see Note)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced (see Note)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 6 slices provolone cheese, broken into pieces
  • 6 hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

  1. Cook beef, mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes or until beef is browned and crumbly and vegetables are tender.
  2. Add ketchup, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper; cook 3 to 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  3. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Serve beef mixture on buns.

  • 2 (12-oz) pkg carrot sticks
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 6 Tbsp olive-oil mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (or use other paprika)

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Toss together carrots, oil, salt, and pepper on a greased rimmed baking sheet; spread in a single layer.
  2. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, turning once, until carrots are browned and tender.
  3. Meanwhile, stir together mayonnaise, garlic, and paprika; serve with fries.
