California Cheeseburgers
Smoky Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients
- ¾ lb ground beef (or use ground turkey)
- 2 slices colby-Jack cheese
- 1 avocado, cubed
- 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- ½ tsp lime zest
- 2 hamburger buns, split
- 2 leaves lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Shape beef into 2 patties; season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Top burgers with cheese; let stand until melted.
- Mash together avocado, mayonnaise, cilantro, and lime zest until smooth; season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread on buns.
- Serve burgers on buns with lettuce, tomato, and onion.
Side Dish Ingredients
- ½ (20-oz) pkg frozen sweet potato fries (or use other frozen fries)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp ground cumin
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake fries according to package directions.
- Stir together paprika, garlic powder, and cumin. Sprinkle over fries; season with salt and pepper to taste.
