Honey Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2½ lb bone-in chicken breasts
  • ¾ cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Use paper towels to grip and remove chicken skin, if necessary. Place chicken breasts in a 5- or 6-quart slow cooker. Combine honey and remaining ingredients; pour sauce over chicken.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW 6 hours.
  3. Shred chicken, removing bones; serve chicken with sauce over hot cooked rice.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1½ cups jasmine rice
  • 2 to 3 tsp sesame seeds
  • 3 Tbsp butter, divided
  • 2 (12-oz) pkg broccoli florets (or use frozen broccoli florets)

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package directions.
  2. Sauté sesame seeds with 1 Tbsp butter in a small skillet until golden and fragrant.
  3. Steam broccoli 4 to 5 minutes over a small amount of boiling water.
  4. Drain and toss broccoli with 2 Tbsp butter; sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
