The Perfect Chili

Ingredients

  • 3 lb ground chuck
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 (28-oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (15.5-oz) cans low-sodium Ranch-style beans (or use other canned beans)
  • 1 (15-oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5-oz) can low-sodium beef broth
  • ¼ cup chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) carton sour cream
  • ½ cup sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and transfer to a 5- to 7-quart slow cooker.
  2. Add tomatoes, both beans, broth, chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours. Serve chili with cheese, sour cream, and onions.
