Glazed Kimchi Burgers

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chile paste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 (5.4-oz) ground beef patties
  • 4 potato buns, toasted
  • 1 cup kimchi, drained
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, sugar, oil, gochujang, and garlic in a small saucepan; cook over medium-high heat 3 minutes or until reduced by half.
  2. Preheat grill pan over medium-high heat. Add patties, and cook 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink, brushing burgers with sauce as they cook.
  3. Place patties on buns, and top with kimchi and, if desired, onions.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg peeled pineapple, cut into sticks
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle pineapple with brown sugar, and cook 4 to 5 minutes per side or until charred.
