Cheeseburger Stromboli
Fries and Fruit
Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz) ball deli pizza dough (or use other pizza dough)
- ½ (12-oz) pkg bacon, chopped
- ¾ lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- ½ Tbsp mustard
- ½ Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced (optional)
- ¼ cup sliced dill pickles (or use sweet pickles)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
- Let dough stand at room temperature 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.
- Meanwhile, cook beef in a large skillet until browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire.
- Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface into 1 (14-x 10-inch) rectangle. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over dough, leaving a 2-inch border on sides.
- Top with meat mixture, tomato (if using), pickles, bacon, and remaining cheese.
- Roll up rectangle to completely enclose filling.
- Place roll, seam side down, on a lightly greased baking sheet, tucking ends under.
- Brush with egg. Cut slits on top of roll at 1-inch intervals.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown; let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
Side Dish Ingredients
- ½ (32-oz) pkg frozen French fries
- ½ (16-oz) pkg strawberries
- 1 small banana, sliced
- 1 Tbsp sugar
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake fries according to package directions. Serve with ketchup.
- Cut up berries, and toss with banana and sugar. Chill until ready to serve.
