Cheeseburger Stromboli

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) ball deli pizza dough (or use other pizza dough)
  • ½ (12-oz) pkg bacon, chopped
  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp ketchup
  • ½ Tbsp mustard
  • ½ Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced (optional)
  • ¼ cup sliced dill pickles (or use sweet pickles)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Let dough stand at room temperature 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.
  3. Meanwhile, cook beef in a large skillet until browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire.
  4. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface into 1 (14-x 10-inch) rectangle. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over dough, leaving a 2-inch border on sides.
  5. Top with meat mixture, tomato (if using), pickles, bacon, and remaining cheese.
  6. Roll up rectangle to completely enclose filling.
  7. Place roll, seam side down, on a lightly greased baking sheet, tucking ends under.
  8. Brush with egg. Cut slits on top of roll at 1-inch intervals.
  9. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown; let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • ½ (32-oz) pkg frozen French fries
  • ½ (16-oz) pkg strawberries
  • 1 small banana, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp sugar

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake fries according to package directions. Serve with ketchup.
  2. Cut up berries, and toss with banana and sugar. Chill until ready to serve.
