Bacon Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1½ lb ground turkey (or use ground beef)
  • 2 to 3 tsp Montreal chicken seasoning
  • 6 large slices colby-Jack cheese (or use Cheddar-Jack cheese)
  • 6 brioche hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 10 minutes or until crisp; drain, reserving about 2 Tbsp drippings in skillet.
  2. Mix together turkey and seasoning. Shape into 6 patties.
  3. Cook patties in drippings over medium-high heat 5 minutes per side or until centers are no longer pink. Add cheese; let stand 1 minute until melted.
  4. Serve turkey cheeseburgers on buns with bacon and, if desired, onion rings. Or serve onion rings on the side.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 (13.5-oz) pkg frozen onion rings
  • Ketchup
  • 2 apples

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake onion rings according to package directions. Serve on burgers or on each plate with ketchup.
  2. Cut up apples just before serving.
