Ingredients

  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • 1 jar pesto, divided
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 hamburger buns
  • ½ tomato, thinly sliced
  • ½ (8-oz) pkg shredded lettuce (or use ½ [1-oz] pkg fresh basil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Stir together beef, 2 Tbsp pesto, and vinegar. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Shape into 2 patties.
  2. Grill patties, covered, 4 to 5 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Top with cheese, and grill 1 minute longer or just until cheese is melted.
  3. Stir together mayonnaise and 2 Tbsp pesto. Spread mixture on buns. Serve burgers on buns with tomato and lettuce.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • ½ (24-oz) pkg frozen waffle-cut French fries
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp pepper

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake fries according to package directions. Sprinkle with cheese and pepper. Bake 2 to 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
