Pepper-Jack Burgers with Caramelized Red Onions

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 slices pepper-Jack cheese
  • 2 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 2 green leaf lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cover and cook 15 minutes or until tender. Uncover and increase heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring constantly, until onion is golden brown.
  2. Meanwhile, combine beef, Worcestershire, chili powder, cumin, and salt. Shape mixture into 2 patties.
  3. Cook patties in same skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Top each patty with cheese; cook 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
  4. Serve on toasted buns with lettuce, caramelized onions, and desired condiments.

  • ½ (24-oz) pkg frozen waffle fries
  • ½ Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp seasoned salt

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake fries according to package directions. Toss with oil and seasoned salt.
