Turkey and Waffle Monte Cristo Sandwiches
Fruit Cups
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- ⅓ cup raspberry jam (or use strawberry jam, jelly, or preserves)
- 4 frozen waffles
- ¼ lb thin sliced deli turkey
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 2 Tbsp butter
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels, and wipe skillet clean.
- Spread raspberry jam over 1 side of each waffle. Top with turkey, bacon, and cheese; cover with remaining waffles, jam side down, to make sandwiches.
- Whisk together egg and milk in a shallow dish.
- Melt butter in same skillet over medium heat. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture to coat, letting excess drip off.
- Add sandwiches to skillet; cook 3 to 4 minutes per side or until waffles are toasted and cheese is melted. Cut sandwiches in half; sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
