Grilled Hawaiian Burgers

Garlic Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 lb grass-fed ground pork
  • 1 Tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 red onion, cut into ¼-inch-thick slices
  • 1 (1.25-lb) container peeled pineapple, cut into 6 slices
  • 4 avocados, mashed
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1½ Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • ½ lb thinly sliced nitrite-free ham

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Stir together beef, pork, ginger, and garlic; season lightly with salt and pepper. Shape mixture into 6 patties.
  2. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Grill onion and pineapple 2 to 3 minutes per side or until browned.
  3. Stir together avocado, cilantro, and lime juice. Spread avocado mixture over burgers. Top with pineapple, ham, and onion.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½-inch-thick wedges
  • 2 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine potatoes, oil, and salt on a rimmed baking sheet; toss. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until tender, stirring once. Toss potatoes with garlic while hot.
