Barbecue Patty Melts
French Fries with Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, softened and divided
- 3 onions, thinly sliced
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- 12 slices Texas toast
- 12 slices Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Melt 2 Tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add onion, and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender and golden brown.
- Meanwhile, stir together beef and Worcestershire in a large bowl; shape into 6 thin patties, and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook patties in a large skillet over medium heat until done; remove from skillet, and wipe skillet clean.
- Spread barbecue sauce on 1 side of each toast slice. Top 6 slices each with 1 slice cheese, onions, patty, and another slice cheese. Cover with 6 bread slices, sauce side down.
- Spread outsides of sandwiches with 6 Tbsp butter. Cook sandwiches, in batches, in skillet over medium heat until golden brown.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 (32-oz) pkg frozen crinkle-cut French fries
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake fries according to package directions.
- Stir together mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, paprika, and pepper; serve with fries.
