Irish Pub Burgers
Crispy Onion RingsIngredients
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- ½ cup pale ale
- 1½ cups milk
- 3 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 Tbsp hot sauce
- 2 lb ground beef
- 6 pretzel rolls, split and toasted
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add flour; cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually add ale and milk, whisking until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, until mixture is thick and bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in cheese and hot sauce until cheese is melted.
- Meanwhile, shape beef into 6 patties; season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink in centers.
- Serve patties on rolls with tomatoes, cheese sauce, and onion rings.
