Lemon-Bacon Shrimp Sauté
Stone-Ground Grits
Ingredients
- 6 slices uncured bacon, chopped
- 1½ lb peeled and deveined, large raw shrimp
- 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes or until crisp. Drain, reserving drippings in skillet.
- Cook shrimp in hot drippings 3 to 4 minutes per side or until shrimp turn pink.
- Add lemon juice, bacon, parsley, and garlic; cook 1 minute. Serve over Stone-Ground Grits recipe.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 5½ cups water
- 1½ cups stone-ground grits
- ¼ cup butter
- 2½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Side Dish Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add grits, reduce heat, and cook 40 to 50 minutes or until grits are thick and done, stirring often. Remove from heat; stir in butter and cheese until melted.
