French Bread Pizzas
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 (28-oz) can San Marzano tomatoes, undrained and chopped
- 1 (16-oz) loaf French baguette (preferably whole wheat), halved lengthwise
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 1 (6-oz) pkg sliced pepperoni
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Sauté garlic in 2 Tbsp hot oil in a saucepan over medium heat 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes; cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened.
- Brush 1 Tbsp oil on cut sides of bread; place on a baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes or until toasted.
- Top bread with desired amount of tomato sauce; top with bell pepper, mushrooms, pepperoni, and cheese.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into serving-size pieces.
