Grilled Korean Skirt Steak
Apple-Cabbage SlawIngredients
- 3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp dark sesame oil
- 1½ tsp ginger paste
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 small cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small shallot, sliced
- 1 lb skirt steak (or use flank steak)
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 1½ tsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Combine soy sauce, honey, oils, ginger, salt, pepper, garlic, and shallot in a zip-top plastic bag. Add steak; toss to coat. Let stand 15 minutes. Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade.
- Grill, covered, 4 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 10 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.
- Meanwhile, bring marinade to a boil in a saucepan over high heat; cook 2 minutes .
- Drizzle over steak; sprinkle with onion and sesame seeds.

- 3 Tbsp lime juice
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- ½ (16-oz) pkg tricolor coleslaw
- ½ Granny Smith apple, cut into matchsticks
- ½ cup very thinly sliced red onion
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh mint
Side Dish Instructions
- Whisk together oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add coleslaw, apple, onion, and mint; toss.
