Spaghetti with Meatball Marinara
Ingredients
- 12 oz whole-grain spaghetti
 - 1 (28-oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
 - 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
 - 1 tsp pepper, divided
 - ½ tsp salt, divided
 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 Tbsp olive oil
 - 1½ lb lean ground beef
 - 1 large egg, lightly beaten
 - ¼ cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
 - ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
 
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
 - Meanwhile, cook tomatoes, Italian seasoning, ½ tsp pepper, ¼ tsp salt, and garlic in hot oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
 - Gently combine beef, egg, breadcrumbs, ½ tsp pepper, and ¼ tsp salt; shape into meatballs.
 - Brown meatballs in a large nonstick skillet 3 to 4 minutes; drain. Add meatballs to tomato sauce. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until meatballs are done and sauce is slightly thickened.
 - Serve over spaghetti; sprinkle with cheese.
