Mushroom Gravy
Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 1 shallot, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Madeira
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add mushrooms, shallot, and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, 15 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
- Add wine, and cook 5 minutes or until liquid is almost evaporated. Add flour, and cook, stirring, 2 minutes.
- Add broth, and cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until gravy is thickened and bubbly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
