Mushroom and Onion Patty Melts
Seasoned French FriesIngredients
- 4 Tbsp butter, softened and divided
- ½ onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (8-oz) pkg whole mushrooms, sliced
- ¾ lb ground beef
- ½ Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 4 slices Texas toast
- 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 slices mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Melt 2 Tbsp butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cook, stirring often, 12 to 15 minutes or until onions are very tender. Remove from skillet; wipe skillet clean.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Stir together beef, Worcestershire, thyme, and desired amount of salt and pepper; shape mixture into 2 thin patties.
- Cook patties in same skillet over medium heat until no longer pink.
- Spread one side of each slice of toast with mayonnaise. Top each of 2 slices with a patty, mushroom mixture, and 1 slice cheese. Top with remaining toast, mayonnaise side down.
- Spread 2 Tbsp butter on outside of sandwiches; place on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.

- Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake fries on a rimmed baking sheet 18 to 20 minutes or until crisp.
