Slow Cooker Christmas Breakfast Casserole
Cinnamon Applesauce
Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg ground pork sausage
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 1 (26-oz) pkg frozen shredded hash browns
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 12 large eggs
- 1¼ cups whole milk
- 1 tsp seasoned salt (or use salt)
- ¾ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring 8 to 10 minutes or until browned and crumbly; drain well.
- Combine bell pepper and onion.
- Place one-third of hash browns in a 5- or 6-quart slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray; top with one-third each of sausage, bell pepper mixture, and cheese. Repeat layers twice.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over layers in cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours or until eggs are set.

- 1 (23-oz) jar cinnamon applesauce, chilled
