Hot Brown Sandwiches
Broccoli, Apple, and Cranberry SaladIngredients
- 6 slices bacon, halved
- 6 thick-cut slices sourdough bread
- 3 Roma tomatoes, sliced
- 2 cups sliced turkey (from Greek-Style Turkey Breast recipe)
- 1 (10-oz) pkg frozen Welsh Rarebit (creamy Cheddar cheese sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat broiler. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes or until crisp.
- Place bread slices on a baking sheet; layer with tomatoes and turkey.
- Microwave Welsh Rarebit according to package directions; spoon over turkey.
- Broil sandwiches, on second oven rack from top, 3 to 5 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
- Top each sandwich with 2 bacon pieces.
Side Dish Ingredients
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 head broccoli, cut into small florets
- 3 red apples, cored and thinly sliced
- ½ cup sweetened dried cranberries
- ¼ cup sunflower seeds
Side Dish Instructions
- Whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar in a large bowl. Add broccoli, apples, cranberries, and seeds; toss to coat.
