Classic Grilled Ham and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 12 slices bakery white bread
  • 1 lb thin deli-sliced ham
  • 12 large slices colby-Jack cheese
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine mustard and mayonnaise; spread a thin layer on each bread slice.
  2. Layer 6 bread slices with ham and cheese; sprinkle with pepper. Cover with remaining bread slices.
  3. Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow dish. Dip each sandwich in egg mixture.
  4. Heat a large, buttered skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches, in batches if necessary, until both sides are browned and cheese is melted. Cut sandwiches in half, if desired.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (8.7-oz) pkg Country Dijon chopped salad kit (or use any favorite chopped salad)
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together salad kit ingredients. Stir in extra cranberries.
