Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1⅓ cups light corn syrup
  • ⅔ cup butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups chopped pecans
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 (13-oz) pkg bakery brownies, crumbled
  • 1 (16-oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Garnish: crumbled brownies

Instructions

  1. Bring sugar, corn syrup, butter, eggs, nuts, and salt to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool 1 hour.
  2. Layer brownies, nut mixture, and whipped topping in a trifle dish or bowl. Garnish with brownie crumbles, if desired. Store in refrigerator.
