Turtle Trifle

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⅓ cups light corn syrup
- ⅔ cup butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups chopped pecans
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 (13-oz) pkg bakery brownies, crumbled
- 1 (16-oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
- Garnish: crumbled brownies
Instructions
- Bring sugar, corn syrup, butter, eggs, nuts, and salt to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool 1 hour.
- Layer brownies, nut mixture, and whipped topping in a trifle dish or bowl. Garnish with brownie crumbles, if desired. Store in refrigerator.
