Beef and Biscuit Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 (7.5-oz) can refrigerated flaky biscuits
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¾ cup barbecue sauce
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (24-oz) carton refrigerated mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup coarsely crushed potato chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Separate biscuits and press into bottom and up sides of a lightly greased 9-inch pie plate. Bake 10 minutes. Press biscuits down with the back of a spoon.
  2. Meanwhile, cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain, and return to skillet. Stir in barbecue sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder; cook until thoroughly heated. Stir in ½ cup cheese.
  3. Spoon beef mixture over partially-baked biscuit crust.
  4. Heat mashed potatoes according to package directions; spoon over beef mixture. Sprinkle with potato chips and remaining cheese. Bake 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

  • ½ (4.5-oz) pkg crumbled bacon
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ (16-oz) pkg frozen green beans

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook bacon pieces, butter, brown sugar, and garlic salt in a large skillet over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Steam green beans according to package directions; add to skillet, and stir to coat with bacon sauce.
