Bacon-Wrapped Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches
Waffle FriesIngredients
- 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 (16-oz) pkg bacon
- 1 (18-oz) bottle barbecue sauce, divided
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced Monterey Jack cheese
- 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut chicken in half crosswise and pound to an even thickness in a zip-top plastic bag using the heel of your hand or a meat mallet. Sprinkle chicken with seasoning. Wrap each piece of chicken with 2 slices bacon.
- Cook chicken in a large skillet over medium-high heat 2 to 3 minutes per side or until bacon begins to brown. Transfer chicken to a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet, and bake 10 minutes.
- Brush with ¾ cup barbecue sauce, and bake 5 minutes longer or until chicken is done and bacon is crisp. Top with cheese, and let stand until melted.
- Spread desired amount of barbecue sauce on buns. Serve chicken on buns.
