Cheesy Pepperoni Calzones

Ingredients

  • 2 (13.8-oz) cans refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 (6-oz) pkg pepperoni
  • 1 (15-oz) carton ricotta cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Unroll pizza dough onto a flat surface. Cut each sheet of dough into 4 squares.
  2. Arrange pepperoni, ricotta, mozzarella, and basil leaves on one side of each dough square. Fold dough over to completely enclose filling, crimping edges to seal.
  3. Place calzones on 2 parchment paper-lined baking sheets; brush with beaten egg. Cut 3 slits in top of each calzone to allow steam to escape.
  4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until calzones are golden brown.
