Sausage and Peppers Ziti
Caesar Salad with Crispy Breadcrumbs and Garlic Bread
Ingredients
- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 (14.4-oz) pkg frozen pepper and onion blend
- 1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (15-oz) can tomato sauce with Italian seasonings
- 1 (15-oz) carton ricotta cheese
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and keep warm.
- Meanwhile, cook sausage and bell pepper blend in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until sausage is browned and crumbly; drain, if needed, and return to skillet. Stir in marinara sauce, tomato sauce, and pasta.
- Spoon half of mixture into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Dollop with half of ricotta, and sprinkle with half of mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
- ½ cup Caesar dressing
- ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 (16-oz) loaf garlic bread
Side Dish Instructions
- Toss together lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing in a large bowl.
- Cook panko and garlic salt in hot oil in a small skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly, until breadcrumbs are browned. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over salad.
- Heat garlic bread according to package directions.
