Flat Iron Steak and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb flat iron steak (see Note)
  • 5 cups broccoli florets (or use frozen florets)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice steak across the grain; set aside.
  2. Bring 1 inch water to a boil in a large saucepan; add broccoli. Simmer 5 minutes. Drain.
  3. Cook steak in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add broccoli, garlic, salt, and pepper; sauté 2 minutes.
  4. Combine broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add broth mixture to skillet; bring to a boil, and cook 1 minute or until slightly thickened. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with additional soy sauce.

  • 2 (12-oz) pkg frozen riced cauliflower (see Note)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook cauliflower and garlic in hot oil in a large skillet 5 minutes, stirring often, until cauliflower is crisp-tender. Stir in salt and pepper; cook 1 minute.
