Brown Sugar Flank Steak

Ingredients

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1½ lb flank steak
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk together sugar, vinegar, oil, Worcestershire, and garlic in a bowl. Rub sugar mixture all over steak. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat broiler. Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Broil 4 to 5 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before slicing across the grain.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (32-oz) pkg refrigerated mashed potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp butter, cut up
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1½ tsp salt, divided
  • 1½ tsp pepper, divided
  • 2 (12-oz) pkg green beans

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook potatoes according to package directions. Stir in butter, rosemary, and ½ tsp each salt and pepper. Garnish with additional chopped rosemary, if desired.
  2. Meanwhile, cook green beans according to package directions. Toss in a bowl with 1 tsp each salt and pepper.
