Easy King Cake

Ingredients
- 1 (3-lb) pkg frozen bread loaf dough (see Note)
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup milk
- Garnish: purple, yellow, and green colored sugars
Instructions
- Thaw frozen bread dough, and let rise according to package directions (see Note).
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll each bread loaf into a 24-x 8-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread softened butter over center of each rectangle. Stir together granulated sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over butter.
- Roll up each rectangle, starting at one long side, jelly-roll fashion, pinching ends and edges to seal.
- Pinch rolls together at top, seam side down; braid rolls.
- Transfer to a greased baking sheet, and form braid into a ring, pinching ends to seal.
- Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on baking sheet.
- Whisk together powdered sugar and milk; drizzle over cooled cake. Sprinkle with colored sugars, if desired.
