Maple Sausage Pancakes
Red Grapes and Sliced ApplesIngredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg ground pork sausage
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 (8-oz) bottle maple syrup, divided
Instructions
- Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain, and set aside, .
- Preheat griddle or a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, butter, and ¼ cup maple syrup, stirring to blend. Stir in half of crumbled sausage.
- Drop batter by ¼ cupfuls onto griddle, and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until tops are covered with bubbles. Turn and cook other side 1 minute. Divide pancakes among 6 plates.
- Top with remaining sausage, and serve with syrup.
