Old El Paso Mild Taco Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ½ (8-oz) container chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 (1-oz) envelope taco seasoning mix (or use other seasoning mix)
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 1 lime, halved
  • 6 burrito-size flour tortillas
  • 1 (12-oz) round queso fresco, crumbled
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 Tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Cook pork, onion, and garlic in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 10 minutes. Stir in seasoning mix, cumin, and orange juice. Simmer 2 minutes. Squeeze lime over meat mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Spoon pork mixture onto tortillas; sprinkle with cheese and cilantro. Fold over in half.
  3. Cook quesadillas, 2 at a time, in a sizzling hot skillet with 1 Tbsp butter per batch over medium-high heat 2 to 3 minutes per side or until golden. Cut quesadillas into wedges.

  • 1 (16-oz) container pico de gallo
