Stuffed French Bread Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

  • 2 (14-oz) loaves French bread
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp whole-grain mustard
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese (or use 8 oz sliced provolone)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Wrap bread loaves in foil. Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated; split loaves lengthwise, cutting to but not through bottom.
  2. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on cut sides of bread.
  3. Cook beef, bell pepper, and onion in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain, return to skillet, and stir in steak seasoning.
  4. Spoon beef mixture onto bread loaves. Top with cheese; return to oven, and bake 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
