Freshness Guaranteed Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced white sandwich bread
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 (24-oz) jars marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5-oz) can chicken broth
  • 1 (16-oz) pkg spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Combine bread, milk, onion, and garlic in a large bowl; let stand 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F. Stir mixture untl all bread is saturated with milk. Stir in egg, cheese, parsley, and basil.
  3. Add beef, mixing genty with hands, and form into 2-inch balls. Place on a lightly greased rack on a large rimmed baking sheet and bake 20 minutes.
  4. Let meatballs cool completely, and place in a single layer in zip-top plastic bags, and freeze up to 1 month.
  5. Heat marinara sauce and broth in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add frozen meatballs, and cook, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes or until meatballs are heated through.
  6. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
