Cinnamon-Raisin French Toast Waffles
Fresh StrawberriesIngredients
- ¼ cup 1% low-fat milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 4 (1.2-oz) slices whole-grain cinnamon-raisin bread
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions. Spray both sides of iron with cooking spray.
- Whisk together milk, vanilla and eggs in a shallow dish. Working in batches, dip bread in egg mixture, soaking 30 seconds on each side.
- Place 1 soaked bread slice on waffle iron; close, and cook 3 to 5 minutes or until done and edges are crisp. Repeat procedure with remaing bread slices. Serve topped with nuts and syrup.
