Cheesy French Dip Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (14.5-oz) can beef broth 
  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • ½ Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 2 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add onion, and cook 10 minutes or until softened, stirring occasionally. Increase heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring often, until caramel colored. Add broth, reduce heat to low, and simmer while you make burgers.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Stir together beef and seasoning; shape mixture into 2 patties.
  3. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Top with cheese; let stand 1 minute.
  4. Stir together mayonnaise and horseradish; spread on bottom buns. Serve cheeseburgers on buns with desired amount of onions. Serve remaining broth mixture for dipping.

  1. Bake fries according to package directions; season lightly with salt and pepper.
