Grilled Five-Spice Chicken

Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1½ Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. Combine onions, cilantro, oil, vinegar, garlic, five-spice powder, and salt in a zip-top plastic bag. Add chicken, seal bag, and turn to coat. Chill 2 hours.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade; discard marinade.
  3. Grill chicken, covered, on a grill rack rubbed with oil 5 to 6 minutes per side or until done. Cut up chicken into pieces to serve.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 slices prosciutto (about 3 oz)

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine asparagus, oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Cut each slice of prosciutto in half lengthwise to make 4 strips total.
  3. Divide asparagus into 4 bunches; wrap 1 strip of prosciutto around each bunch of asparagus. Arrange bundles on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake 15 minutes or until asparagus is tender and prosciutto is crisp.
