Italian Sausage and Pepper Subs
Crispy Potato Tots with Lemon AioliIngredients
- 1 (20-oz) pkg Italian sausage links
- 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 (20-oz) pkg frozen pepper and onion blend
- 1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (6-count) pkg poppy seed hot dog buns
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ (12-oz) bottle spicy brown mustard
Instructions
- Cook sausage in 2 Tbsp hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet, and keep warm.
- Cook bell pepper mixture in 1 Tbsp hot oil in same skillet over medium-high heat until crisp-tender. Return sausage to skillet, and add marinara sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until sausage is done.
- Preheat broiler. Divide sausage mixture among buns, and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 3 to 4 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve with mustard.

- 1 (32-oz) pkg frozen potato tots
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake potato tots according to package directions; season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Stir together mayonnaise and garlic. Grate zest and squeeze juice from lemon into mayonnaise mixture; stir and serve with tots.
