Ingredients
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 (32-oz) pkg frozen fully cooked homestyle meatballs
- ⅓ cup beef broth
- 1 (6-count) pkg hoagie rolls
- 12 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Cook onions with a pinch of sugar in melted butter, covered, in a large deep skillet over medium heat 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover, increase heat to medium-high, and cook 5 minutes or until browned and tender. Season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, heat 30 meatballs according to package directions for microwave. Add broth and meatballs to skillet with onions, tossing to coat.
- Preheat broiler. Toast rolls, cut sides up, on a baking sheet. Add meatballs with onions to bottom rolls, and top with cheese. Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese melts. Add tops.

- Slice tomatoes; arrange on a platter. Drizzle with oil; sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper to taste.
